The Montgomery Biscuits are hoping to find Montgomery 's most talented, dynamic, outgoing performers at their open casting call on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Riverwalk Stadium. The Biscuits are looking to hire several entertainers to delight fans during the 2006 season, including the coveted position of playing Big Mo , the Biscuits' seven-foot Biscuit-lovin' beast of a mascot.
The Biscuits are also searching for jugglers, singers, dancers, musicians, balloon twisters, magicians, artists and even outgoing people whose only specific talent is making people smile. During the 2006 season, these entertainers will be roaming the stadium interacting with fans and entertaining the crowds.
The casting call is an open audition for anyone who considers himself / herself an entertainer. Biscuits staff will be on hand to speak with each applicant and witness performances.
"We're looking for people who are the life of the party," said Biscuits' Director of Entertainment April Catarella. "I'm really looking forward to seeing some diverse talents put on display here. But more than that, I'm looking forward to seeing people who can entertain based only on the strength of their personality."
Qualifying applicants will be able to join the Biscuits' entertainment team in one of three ways:
Great physical actors have the opportunity to become Big Mo , performing before large crowds at Biscuits' home games and on special appearances.
Entertainers with specialized talents will be hired for the 2006 season on an as-needed basis. These entertainers will be at the ballpark during most big nights.
Outgoing individuals can become part of the Biscuits' "Party Patrol." The "Party Patrol" will roam the stands with interactive games and prizes and their role will be to encourage fans to participate.
"Biscuits games are already a great show," said General Manager Greg Rauch. "We're looking for entertainers who can help us keep it that way and even expand it in 100 different directions."
"If you know you're destined for stardom, you could have the opportunity to display your talents in front of thousands of people nightly," Catarella added. "We're hoping to see people who can work within our atmosphere of family fun entertainment and even take it to a whole other level."
The casting call is open to all ages 16 and over, and it will last until all future stars have had an audition.
