WILMINGTON, DE - The Wilmington Blue Rocks announced that they have added four new members to the full-time front office staff for the 2006 season with three of the four newly hired having worked with the Blue Rocks in the past. Blue Rocks General Manager Chris Kemple made the announcement. The new front office members include: John Kramer, Steve Lovergine, Joe Valenti and Shawn Vascellaro, all four will work within the Blue Rocks Ticket and Group Sales Departments. The Blue Rocks have also hired Amy Hahn as the new office manager. "We're very excited to have the opportunity to add these four individuals to our full-time ticket department staff," said Jared Forma, the Blue Rocks director of ticket operations and group sales. "Steve, John, Shawn and Joe all exemplify the qualities we expect and that our fans deserve from a Blue Rocks employee. These new additions will enable the Blue Rocks to better serve all of our fans, the best in minor league baseball."
Amy Hahn, Office Manager - Amy Hahn joins the Blue Rocks staff as the office manager, replacing Terra Crump, who had been with the club since 2003. Hahn, 22, is a student at Delaware Technical and Community College. The Wilmington, DE native is expecting to graduate in the spring with a degree in Interior Design.
John Kramer, Ticket Manager - John Kramer joins the Blue Rocks staff as a Ticket Manager. Kramer, 23, was born and raised in Trainer, PA. He graduated from Temple University in February of 2005 with a degree in Sport/Recreation Management. He served as a marketing intern with the Blue Rocks in 2003 and served the team as a game-staff employee, beginning in 1999. He has also worked with the Philadelphia Philles and 76ers and served as a tour guide for the Wachovia Center in 2001-02. Kramer completed an internship for IMG Philadelphia during the 2004 Advanta Tennis Championship and also in facility operations for IMG during the 2005 NASDA-100 Open in Miami, FL in 2005.
Steve Lovergine, Ticket Manager - Steve Lovergine joins the Blue Rocks staff in a full-time role as a Ticket Manager. Lovergine has worked in the Blue Rocks ticket office during the 2001-02 seasons and again in 2005. The 30-year-old is originally from Westbury, NY and currently resides in Wilmington. Lovergine graduated from Wesley College in 2000 with a degree in Sports Management.
Joe Valenti, Group Sales Manager - Joe Valenti joins the Blue Rocks as a Group Sales Manager after working with the Philadelphia Phillies as a Sales intern in 2005. The Newtown, PA native graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Communications in 2004. Valenti, 24, currently resides in Philadelphia.
Shawn Vascellaro, Group Sales Manager - Shawn Vascellaro joins the Blue Rocks in a full-time capacity as a Group Sales Manager after serving as a Group Sales Assistant with the Blue Rocks in 2005. Vascellaro is a 2004 graduate of SUNY-Cortland, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Management. At Cortland, he was a catcher and played first base for the club baseball team, where the Red Dragons won the Northeast Conference four consecutive years. He also served as president of the club team. The 24-year-old is a native of Middletown, DE and is beginning his second year in professional sports.
The Blue Rocks will add to their front office staff with the hiring of seasonal staff members over the next few weeks.
The Blue Rocks open up the 2006 Carolina League season on Thursday, April 6 on the road against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
