DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth bolstered its offense on Tuesday with the re-signing of forward Gavin Prout, the team's top playmaker.
Prout, who led the team and ranked seventh in the National Lacrosse League last season with 50 assists, has racked up 169 points in two seasons with the Mammoth. Prout tallied 154 points in two seasons with the New York Saints before signing with the Mammoth as a free agent prior to the 2004 season.
"Gavin has had two excellent seasons here and we expect even greater things this year," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "He is talented enough to be the league's top scorer, but helping the team win has always been his priority."
Prout, a two-time All-Pro selection, has represented the Mammoth at the NLL All-Star Game the last two seasons. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Whitby, Ontario, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 NLL entry draft after an All-American career at Loyola College in Maryland.
