North Bay Battalion News Release

BRAMPTON, Ont. - A total of 48 Brampton Battalion games will be seen on Rogers Community Television this season, the Ontario Hockey League club announced Tuesday.

The Troops' Rogers schedule, which started last Friday with a 4-1 loss to the visiting Barrie Colts, comprises 23 home games and 25 away contests. The only road games Battalion fans won't be able to see on Rogers are those originating from Erie, Plymouth, Saginaw, Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, as well the last of three visits to the Toronto St. Michael's Majors.

Club president Mike Griffin said the schedule of televised games is the largest in the team's history.

"When Rogers Cable added OHL games to its Super Sports Pack last season, it provided an immediate benefit to our local-market fans because Cogeco telecasts were added to the strong Rogers Community Television programming.

"This season the partnership between Rogers Cable, Cogeco and the OHL means Battalion fans in Brampton, Caledon, Bolton and Orangeville will be able to watch nearly three-quarters of our road games, and we hope that percentage will continue to grow in coming seasons."

Nine of the Battalion's televised road games are against Central Division opponents, comprising three against Barrie, four against the Mississauga IceDogs and two against Toronto. Ten of the last 11 regular-season games will be televised.

Griffin said Rogers will do regular features on Battalion players and coaches and attend club functions at area schools.

"Rogers Community Television is an important partner for the Battalion organization, and we appreciate their efforts to expand our local-market coverage area and to feature members of our team on various programs televised in Peel Region."

All road games will again be simulcast on BattalionHockey.com for fans outside the Brampton viewing area.
