Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians, along with Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) and the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (NAPBL), will unveil a new interactive web site on Monday. The new site, launched just in time for the club's playoff chase, will feature up-to-date scores, rosters and statistics in addition to live audio and video.

"We are extremely excited about the new IndyIndians.com and the opportunity to better serve our fans," Indians Director of Marketing Chris Herndon says. "The new site will provide our fans with an unprecedented level of access to team and player information, sortable stats, live multimedia, licensed merchandise and much more."

The Tribe's new site joins the MiLB.com network, which was formed this past January when MLB Advanced Media and Minor League Baseball announced a major partnership agreement making MLBAM the exclusive provider of internet-related services and other interactive media services for the Minor Leagues.

The 10-year online agreement, which began in 2005, makes MLBAM exclusively responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of the official Minor League site, the web sites for each of the NAPBL leagues and the web sites for the NAPBL teams that elect to participate in the new web site network. In addition, MLBAM has been selected as the official statistician for Minor League Baseball.

The site, while taking a brand new look, will continue to be found at www.IndyIndians.com.

Indianapolis returns to Victory Field on Tuesday for its final homestand of 2005. The Indians face Toledo in a three-game series (Aug. 30-Sept. 1) before squaring off with Louisville in a two-game set (Sept. 2-3).

The Indians lead the International League Wild Card race by three and a half games over Columbus heading into Monday's action. The magic number for a Tribe playoff berth stands at five.
