
Garciaparra to extend rehab appearance with Diamon Jaxx

(Jackson, TN)- Chicago Cubs SS Nomar Garciaparra will extend his rehab assignment with the the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx through Wednesday afternoon's game against the Huntsville Stars.
Garciaparra is rehabilitating a torn groin muscle suffered in St. Louis on April 20th. In his two games played with the Diamond Jaxx, Garciaparra is 2-6 with two runs scored.
A former first round pick of the Boston Red Sox in 1994, Garciaparra made his major league debut with the Red Sox in 1996. He is a lifetime .320 hitter in the major leagues and a five-time All-Star. Garciaparra has also hit at least twenty home runs in six seasons and has driven in at least one hundred runs four times in his career.
