 Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce that Tennessee Titan defensive end, Kyle Vanden Bosch will be in attendance for the Saturday, May 28, 2005, game when the Sioux Falls Storm take on the Black Hills Red Dogs in the Sioux Falls Arena. Vanden Bosch will be on the field before the kickoff to take part in the pre-game coin flip. Kyle is originally from Larchwood, IA and attended the University of Nebraska to play his collegiate career. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals as the 34th pick in the 2001 draft and will be entering into his fifth year in the NFL after playing his first four years for the Cardinals. During his four years, Vanden Bosch has totaled 76 tackles in 35 games and four sacks. Vanden Bosch has spent much of his time in Sioux Falls in the past years as he recovered from serious knee injury at the Orthopedic Institute, which caused him to miss the 2003 season. Going into the 2005 season, Vanden Bosch is ranked 131 out of nearly 350 defensive linemen in the NFL.
In other Storm news, kick returner/offensive specialist James Jones was awarded the Week 10 Special Teams Player of the Week honors by the UIF. The 5'5", 170 lb Northern Colorado alum helped the Storm defeat the Evansville Bluecats 49-42 in overtime last Saturday. Jones racked up 133 yards on five kick returns, including one for a touchdown in the forth quarter to spark the Storm. His 26.6 yards per kick return, and his presence on the field caused the Bluecats to kick the ball out of bounds instead of letting him get his hands on it. Jones and the Storm are at home against the Red Dogs this weekend at the Sioux Falls Arena. Doors open at 6:00 PM with a kickoff at 7:05 PM. The night will be themed "Beach Party Night," with Storm beach balls as the give-a-way. Saturday's festivities will start at 3 PM at Buffalo Wild Wings will a tailgate party featuring live music from the band Vermillion, food and drink specials, Lightning Girls, Ball Babes, and much, much more. Join the Storm players, coaches, Lightning Girls, and staff after the game at the post-game party at Champs in the Western Mall on 41st Street.
