Chicago Fire FC News Release

CHICAGO, IL (Thursday, March 4, 2004) - The Chicago Fire today announced that its season ticket sales revenue has surpassed last season's total. The year to date season ticket revenue marks an increase of 36% over 2003. In addition, season ticket numbers are up 14% compared to year to date sales in 2003.

"The Fire's outstanding performance in 2003 along with the return to new Soldier Field and the excitement surrounding the new stadium announcement in Bridgeview for 2006 have generated unprecedented interest in Fire tickets," said Fire GM Peter Wilt.

The Fire's ticket sales staff has worked hard towards reaching this goal, and the Chicago Fire's Director of Ticket Sales believes there's more to expect before the start of the Fire's seventh Major League Soccer campaign.

"The excitement of playing our first full season at New Soldier Field - which will have even more added amenities than last year - has resulted in an impressive increase in new season tickets sales in February alone," said the Chicago Fire's Director of Ticket Sales Vince Formanek. "With the Fire in a good position to win three trophies in three major competitions this year, we feel our sales department will remain busy prior to our first game on March 24 and through the rest of the season."

Individual game tickets for the Fire's 2004 MLS campaign at New Soldier Field -- including its upcoming CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals match against Trinidad's San Juan Jabloteh on Wednesday, Mar. 24 at 7:30 p.m. CT -- are now available and can be purchased through Ticketmaster outlets or by calling 312-559-1212 or visiting www.ticketmaster.com beginning Monday at 10:00 a.m. CT. Tickets can also be purchased at the Chicago Fire Offices, located at 980 N. Michigan, Suite 1998 (corner of Oak/Michigan) in Chicago. To order season tickets or for group discounts, please call 1-888-MLS-FIRE.

The Chicago Fire will take part in its third CONCACAF Champions Cup in six seasons when it battles San Juan Jabloteh in the region's premier club tournament. Prior to its return match at Soldier Field, the Fire will travel to Trinidad for the first leg of the home-and-home aggregate goal series on Mar. 17 at 7:00 p.m. CT from Hasley Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain.

The "Men in Red" will kick-off their 15-game 2004 MLS home campaign on Saturday, Apr. 17 at 7:30 p.m. CT against the Dallas Burn.
