Comets sign two players

Kansas City, MO – The Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Tuesday that the team has signed two players. Jake Dancy, 25, who played for the Comets last season, will return for the remainder of this season with an option to return next season. The Comets also signed Brazilian goalkeeper Sanaldo, 26, for four seasons, which includes the remainder of this season and three more.
The 5-foot-10-inch, 175-pound Dancy is a native of Diamond Bar, CA. He played defender for Kansas City from 2000 until 2003. In his career with Kansas City, he played in 70 games and recorded 12 goals, 12 assists and 87 blocks. In six playoff games, he scored one goal and assisted on another and blocked five shots.
Prior to the Comets, Dancy played for the Kansas City Wizards and the New York/New Jersey MetroStars of the MLS. He was drafted by the MetroStars in the sixth round of the 2000 MLS Superdraft. Dancy played for the Fresno State University team that won the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals in 1996.
Sanaldo Freitas de Carvalho, nicknamed Sanaldo, has played goalkeeper for professional clubs in Brazil, including the prestigious São Paulo Futebol Club of Serie A. Before he joined the Comets, Sanaldo played for Lages Esporte Clube of Serie A in Brazil. The 6-foot, 160-pound Brazilian also played for Sport Club Bahia, Associação Portuguesa de Desportos, Sport Club Santo Andre and C.E. Umuarama.
To make room on the roster, the Comets placed goalkeeper DJ Horvath and forward Aleksey Korol on waivers.
