North Shore Navigators News Release

Lynn, MA- The North Shore Navigators have their man. They have agreed to terms with former Colorado Rockies minor league hitting coach, John Zizzo, to become their next Manager. The announcement came on Monday afternoon, just two months after the previous Manager, Jon Cahill, resigned.

"This is a homerun for Navs Nation," said General Manager Bill Terlecky. "Mission accomplished!"

Terlecky's words were echoed by the owner of the Navigators, Pat Salvi. "We were highly impressed with Zizzo's experience and presence," said Salvi. "He also received a terrific recommendation from his friend, former Ohio state football coach and current President of Youngstown State, Jim Tressel"

Zizzo, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, comes to the Navigators with more than 35 years of baseball experience including stops at Youngstown State, Indiana University, the Colorado Rockies, and the Frontier League. Most recently Zizzo has worked as a mentor in a baseball program in the Youngstown area that trains teams in association with the baseball organization "Perfect Game."

"I want to thank Pat Salvi, Bill Terlecky, and the Navigators organization for this opportunity," said Zizzo. "I look forward to working with Terlecky and his staff in a class organization like the Navigators. It will be exciting to help develop our talented college players and to compete for the FCBL Championship."

Known for the passion that he brings to the game, Zizzo will undoubtedly become a fan favorite at Fraser Field during the upcoming season. He will also inherit a team that is looking to return to the playoffs after falling short for the first time in franchise history as they finished a half- game behind the final playoff spot last season.

The Navigators also announced that Zizzo will be assisted by Alex Jurczynski. Jurczynski, a native of Schenectady, N.Y, is currently the head coach at Hudson Community College. Before going to Hudson Community College, Jurczynski played college baseball at the Oswego State University in New York.

"We are excited to have Alex join our organization," said Terlecky. "We feel that between Alex and Zizzo, we have a winning combination."
