Zephyrs' Final Home Series Cancelled

Published on August 30, 2012 under Pacific Coast League (PCL1) News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Pacific Coast League has announced the upcoming series between the Iowa Cubs and the New Orleans Zephyrs, scheduled for August 31 - September 3 at Zephyr Field, has been cancelled due to the effects from Hurricane Isaac.

Following a full assessment of the current conditions in New Orleans and surrounding areas, in addition to significant disruptions to scheduled team travel and the unknown timetable for the resumption of services in the area, it was deemed necessary to cancel the games. The decision was made in conjunction with both PCL clubs and their Major League affiliates.

"Given the extensive impact of Hurricane Isaac on airline schedules, municipal infrastructure, and the safety and well-being of people across the region, we felt it was important at this time that the PCL allow all of those affected to more importantly focus on local recovery," said league President Branch Rickey.

Fans holding tickets for any of the four games should contact the Zephyrs office (504-734-5155) beginning Tuesday, September 4, for instructions on redemptions for games during the 2013 season.
