New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release

Memphis, Tennessee - The Zephyrs reached into their bag of tricks on Friday night and pulled a magical come-from-behind win in Memphis. The Z's won for just the third time this season when trailing after eight innings. The Z's scored a pair of runs in the ninth to rally and defeat Memphis 5-4.

The ninth inning started with a Kyle Jensen base-hit. Memphis closer Eric Fornataro retired the next two hitters when pinch-hitter Kyle Skipworth drilled a pinch-hit single to right field to tie the game at four. Skipworth stole second base and advanced to third base on a Justin Bour base hit. Bour's base-hit was to third base and forced Scott Moore to dive for the ball he decided to throw across the diamond to try to get Bour, the ball zipped past first base and Skipworth scored the go ahead run.

Chaz Roe worked a perfect ninth inning to earn his eleventh save. Arquemedes Caminero (3-1) earned the win working an inning and a third scoreless.

The Z's also got an unearned run earlier in the game on an identical play. A base-hit by Jensen hit to third base and Moore committed a throwing error in the first inning allowing the Zephyrs to score their second run.

The Z's Rob Brantly hit a home run in the fourth inning to tie the game at three.

The Z's trail first place Nashville by 4 games and have 24 games to play. The trip continues in Memphis on Saturday night.
