Mallards outfielder Zach Jarrett (UNC-Charlotte) has been named as a participant in the 2016 Home Run Derby at the Harbor participant, which will take place on July 18th in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Rather than a traditional home run derby, the 18 participants will hit from a pier that extends into Lake Michigan with boats acting as foul poles. The distance to the foul poles will replicate that of Historic Simmons Field, where the All-Star Game will be played.

"It's an honor to be selected to and be able to participate in the Home Run Derby at the Harbor and represent the Mallards," said Jarrett. "It will be a lot of fun to see all the guys from around the league and see what everyone can do. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity."

Jarrett is currently hitting .268 with six home runs, 33 RBIs, seven doubles, three triples and three stolen bases. His RBI total leads the Mallards and his four outfield-assists this season is the most by a Northwoods League right fielder in 2016.

Jarrett, along with teammate Troy Bacon (Santa Fe College), will be representing the Mallards in the All-Star Game hosted by the Kenosha Kingfish on July 19th. For more information on the event, visit KingfishBaseball.com

The Mallards will return to the Duck Pond on Thursday, July 14th, to take on the Rockford Rivets at 7:05 pm. The contest will feature a Pepsi Double Decker Pizza Bus Maynard bobblehead giveaway. Tickets are available for purchase by visiting MallardsBaseball.com, calling the Mallards ticket office at 608-246-4277, or stopping in the ticket office at 2920 N Sherman Ave.
