Drummondville - The Drummondville Voltigeurs are proud to present the first game of the third installment of the ADT Canada/Russia Challenge on November 21st, at the Marcel Dionne Center.

Voltigeurs fans will have the privilege of witnessing the very first all-star game in Drummondville since the franchise was born 23 years ago. In keeping with the historic value of this event, the members of the organizing committee wished to appoint an honorary captain who has been an ambassador for the game of hockey in Drummondville - Mr. Yvan Cournoyer.

Phil Esposito said that he was the only Canadian player who could compete with the speed of the Soviets in the 1972 Summit Series. He tallied three goals and two assists in the eight game Series and scored the winning goal in game two, won 4-1 by Canada. Furthermore, he scored the tying goal at 12:56 of the third period of the eighth and final game, on a rebound of his own shot.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Series, a stamp and a dollar were created. The Montreal Canadiens will retire his number in an upcoming pre-game ceremony on November 12th.

It is with great honour that Mr. Yvan Cournoyer has accepted the title of honorary captain for the ADT Canada/Russia Challenge.

"Since I come from the region, I was more than happy to partake in this event. Drummondville is a hockey town with truly passionate fans. I'm truly looking forward to it," mentioned Mr. Cournoyer.

The second game of the twin-bill in the QMJHL takes place two days later, on November 23rd, in Moncton Coliseum.
