BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, November 14, 2005 (QMJHL) - Quebec Remparts center Simon Courcelles and Moncton Wildcats defenseman Keith Yandle were named offensive and defensive players of the week for the period extending from November 7th to 13th.

In four games, the Quebec Remparts forward totalled two goals and eight assists, while maintaining a 58.6% success rate in the face-off circle as well as a +6 (plus/minus) differential. Courcelles led his team to four victories last week over PEI, Victoriaville, Drummondville and Rimouski to extend the Remparts' winning streak to eight games. His best performance was a four assist night in a 5-1 win over the Voltigeurs which earned him the game's first star in front of 7 852 fans at the Colisée Pepsi. Courcelles now has 20 points in 21 games since the start of the season. Quebec is credited with having the League's best offence, averaging 5.1 goals per game.

Philippe Dupuis (1-8-9) and Stéphane Goulet (4-3-7), both of the Moncton Wildcats as well as Alexander Radulov (4-6-10) of Quebec were also considered.

The defensive player of the week award goes to Moncton Wildcats defenseman Keith Yandle. In three games, he scored one goal and added six assists while remaining very steady in his own end as demonstrated by his +9 (plus/minus) showing. Last Thursday versus Shawinigan, he was named the game's second star thanks to a three point night in a 7-4 Wildcats win. The next night, Yandle impressed once more with his solid defensive play, earning the game's second star for a second consecutive night thanks to a +4 (plus/minus) differential in the 6-5 loss. He leads QMJHL defensemen in scoring with 30 points in 22 games.
