
Yuma Scorpions and the Golden Baseball League Secure First Television Broadcast Deal

(Pleasanton, CA. June 9, 2006) The Golden Baseball League announced today that the Yuma Scorpions have reached an agreement with Adelphia Cable and Arizona Western College to televise four games this season. This marks the first television broadcast deal for the Golden Baseball League, as the league is beginning its second season.
As part of the partnership, Arizona Western College will provide the broadcasters and their AWC TV Services crew to team with Adelphia engineers to show the games live on Adelphia Channel 28 in Yuma.
The first broadcast is scheduled for this Saturday, June 10th.
"We are thrilled to team with Adelphia and Arizona Western College to bring Scorpions baseball into the homes of the citizens of Yuma," said Jason Matlock, General Manager of the Yuma Scorpions. "Adelphia is well-known for providing community-oriented programming and the production crew at Arizona Western College is a first class operation."
The four games on the television schedule with be: June 10th versus the Fullerton Flyers, July 21st versus the Chico Outlaws, August 19th versus the Long Beach Armada, and August 26th versus the Fullerton Flyers. Jim Howell, the legendary Yuma sports personality and broadcaster, will handle the play-by-play. Patrick Cunningham, AWC Women's basketball coach and broadcaster for AWC Football and Basketball, will handle the color commentary. Each broadcast will also include a 15-minute pre-game show beginning at 7:00 P.M.
The four game broadcasts are in addition to "The Sting," a half-hour show highlighting Scorpions Baseball and hosted by Damien Beasley, which Adelphia currently airs every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 P.M. on Channel 28.
