Your Team, Your Name Contest for Kids Offers $500 and Season Tickets
July 16, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Philadelphia Colonials News Release
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. â The "Your Team, Your Name" contest for kids has been launched by the Philadelphia Squires of the American Basketball Association (ABA), General Manager Jeff Wilson announced today.
The contest to re-name the professional basketball team will only be open to children 14 years of age and younger. The child who submits the best mascot name will receive a $500 savings bond and a family four-pack of season tickets to the team's home games. Contest entries must be submitted exclusively via the team's Web site, www.phillysquires.com.
"This team is for children and families to enjoy, so we want a name that kids like," said Wilson. "We could think of names all day, but they would never compare to a mascot that children could come up with. The Philadelphia team needs their creativity and imagination."
"Your Team, Your Name" contest rules:
⢠Must be 14 years of age or younger to enter
⢠Only one entry per child
⢠Runs Friday, July 16, 2004 at 5 p.m. to Sunday, July 25, 2004 at
11:59 p.m.
⢠If the winning mascot name is submitted by more than one person, the
top prize winner will be selected at random
⢠More prizes will be available just for submitting a name
