Published on November 2, 2006 under Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

The Youngstown SteelHounds have been voted as the Central Hockey League's current top club, based on balloting among all 17 CHL Head Coaches. The SteelHounds received eight first place votes and were ranked no worst than 4th by any opposing coach. The Oklahoma City Blazers and expansion Arizona Sundogs ranked second and third respectively, followed by the Wichita Thunder and Colorado Eagles.

Each Thursday afternoon throughout the season the CHL will release the results of the Coaches Poll. Each first place selection earns 10 points, second place earns 9 points, etc. Coaches cannot vote for their own team, creating a potential perfect score of 160 points should one club receive all 16 possible first place votes.
