Cedar Rapids, IA (July 6, 2004) The Cedar Rapids River Raiders along with Yellow Book USA announce today the winner of the Yellow Book USA Defensive Player of the Year award sponsored by Yellow Book USA. The Yellow Book USA / River Raiders Defensive Player of the Year award was voted on by Coaches, and River Raiders Management.

In 1930 Bettye Gorindar starts Merchants Advertising Service Inc. publishing local community directories for the newly emerging communities on Long Island. Nineteen years later in 1949 Charles Levien joins the company and changes the name to Yellow Book. Yellow Book continued to expand publishing new directories through acquisitions and original publications. In April 2002, Yellow Book's footprint expands into 19 additional states with the acquisition of McLeodUSA Publishing. This expansion gives Yellow Book USA a US footprint larger than any Independent or Telephone Company publisher, with coverage in 38 states, plus the District of Columbia. In 2004 Yellow Book continues its growth providing its services nationwide to 42 states with a circulation of over 72 million.
