Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz will be conducting an open tryout for the upcoming 2010 season. The tryout will be held September 30th at the Indoor Soccer Arena off Reno and McArthur in Oklahoma City.
Details for the tryout are as follows:

8 a.m. - 9 a.m. (Offensive/Defensive Line & Fullbacks/Linebackers)
10 a.m. - 11 a.m. (Quarterbacks, Receivers, Defensive Backs & Kickers)

9 a.m. (Offensive/Defensive Line, Fullbacks and Linebackers)
11 a.m. (Skill Positions & Kickers)

The Yard Dawgz will also hold an open tryout in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Woodland Sports Complex on September 24th. The times for this tryout will be the same as the Oklahoma City tryout.

The Yard Dawgz have signed numerous players from open tryouts in the past. In 2009, defensive back Davion Mitchell, kicker David Hendrix, and receivers Matt Fields, and Geory Lewis earned roster spots. The 2008 Yard Dawgz were assigned kicker Ben Scott and wideouts Keaton Graham and Jared Smith following their performances in the tryouts held in mid-December.
Head Coach Sparky McEwen is committed to helping players advance to the next level and has seen numerous players succeed in the AFL and NFL.
"This is a very important time of the year as we prepare for what we believe will be a history making season," said Coach McEwen. "We are thrilled about the quality of talent that we'll be able to evaluate from. Our staff is busy looking for the best young talent that we can find. It's essential that we find talent in our tryouts because that's our main focus this offseason. If you look at our track record, we've proven we can do that."
The Yard Dawgz will play all their 2010 home games at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City. The regular season begins in April and runs through July with playoffs in August.
