Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz dance team will host their 5th annual Yard Dawgz Junior Dance clinic July 19 for children ages five and up. The dance clinic will prepare participants for a halftime performance during that evening's Yard Dawgz game versus the rival Tulsa Talons.

"The best part of the clinic is the halftime show," said Brandy Corcoran, Dance Team Coordinator. "The kids get to be on the field and participate with the Yard Dawgz dancers. It is always great to see the kids show off all of their hard work during the halftime performance."

In addition to experiencing a half-time performance at a Yard Dawgz game, students will receive two tickets to that night's game against Tulsa, a free T-shirt, and an opportunity to meet Yard Dawgz players and dancers.

The one-day clinic begins at 9 a.m. at the Ford Center, 100 W. Reno Ave., in Oklahoma City and will run until 3 p.m. Students will need to bring their own lunch, and must have proof of health insurance.

"The kids gain experience in learning dance choreography, teamwork, and building self-esteem," Corcoran added.

The cost of the clinic is $40. Participants will also get to purchase additional game tickets, beyond the two included in the clinic's tuition, for a discounted price of $5.

The Yard Dawgz will be home June 21 to take on the Bossier City BattleWings and June 28 to face the Lubbock Renegades. A registration table for the dance clinic will be set up at both games, which begin at 7:05 p.m.

Parents can also mail the registration forms to or drop them off at the Yard Dawgz office, 100 W. Main, Suite 175, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. The office is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All registration must be complete by Tuesday, July 15 at 5 p.m.
