Yard Dawgz fight their way to the top

OKLAHOMA CITY- For the third week this season, the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of arenafootball2 have received league honors.

Yesterday, the arenafootball2 league office announced that the Yard Dawgz had moved to the

# 1 spot in the Coaches Poll. With a 6-1 record, this is the first time in franchise history that the Yard Dawgz have held the # 1 ranking.

Yard Dawgz Quarterback Craig Strickland was named the Shutt's Offensive Player of the week for his outstanding play against the Tulsa Talons in week 6. Strickland also tied his own record with most touchdowns in a game with 10; and became the first quarterback to complete 20,000 passing yards.

Last week, WR/LB Chavis McCollister collected the U.S. Army Ironman Award after catching 4 balls for 27 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side, McCollister registered one tackle and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a score.

The Yard Dawgz are on the road to take on the winless Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. Oklahoma City returns to the Ford Center on Saturday, June 3rd in its first meeting against the Rio Grande Valley Dorados this season.
