Yard Dawgz Fall To The Talons

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz fell to the Tulsa Talons 61-74, on Friday night in front of 7,702 fans at the Cox Convention Center. Tulsa's offense proved to be a challenge for the Dawgz highly ranked defense.

The Talons started off the first quarter with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Justin Allgood to Donovan Morgan. Jerel Myers answered for the Dawgz with a 31-yard touchdown reception from Dawgz quarterback, Tommy Grady, tying the game. Allgood came back for the Talons with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Carlese Franklin, putting the Talons back in the lead. With a 1;55 left in the first, Grady threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Craig Fulton Jr. At the end of the first quarter the Dawgz trailed by one, 12-13.

The second quarter proved to be one of high scoring. Jeff Hughley came out with a 6-yard touchdown reception from Allgood, to start the second quarter. Jamar Ransom jumped in front of a Grady pass to step into the end zone for a Talons touchdown. Oklahoma City came back to score on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Grady to Xavier Lee. Allgood threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Donovan Morgan to widening the score gap. Grady answered with a 16-yard pass to Fulton Jr. Once again, the Talons answered with Franklin's 8-yard touchdown reception from Allgood. On their last possession of the first half Chad Cook carried the ball 3 yards for a Dawgz touchdown. Heading into the locker at the half the Talons led the Dawgz 41-33.

The third quarter was much like the first quarter lots of back and forth scoring. Tulsa scored first with a 1-yard pass to Morgan from Allgood. Oklahoma City answered with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Grady to Myers. The Talons were the last to score in the third with when Allgood threw a 10-yard pass to Hughley. At the end of the fourth the Talons were leading the Dawgz 55-40.

For the fourth time in the game the Talons were the first to score in the fourth quarter. Allgood threw a 1-yard pass to Morgan to start the quarter. Grady answered by throwing a 5-yard touchdown pass to Robinson keeping the Dawgz in the game. On their next possession, Collin Taylor caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Allgood. The Dawgz came back with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Grady to Robinson. Kevin McCullough intercepted an Allgood pass on the Talons next offensive drive with only 2:30 left in the game, giving the Dawgz the ball back. Oklahoma City's offense was able to turn their next possession into a touchdown with a 13-yard carry by Grady. The Dawgz were within a touchdown of tying the game. Tulsa had the final possession, which they turned into another score with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Morgan from Allgood. When the final buzzer went off the Dawgz fell to the Talons 61-74.
