OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (4-2) dropped to #8 this week in the latest af2 Coaches Poll. The Yard Dawgz fell four spots after losing their second game of the season to their archrival, the Tulsa Talons, 75-56. The Talons are tied for second with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers. This week the Dawgz square off against the defending 2008 af2 ArenaCup Champion Tennessee Valley Vipers (5-2), who are currently ranked #4, in Huntsville, AL.

This weekends matchup against fourth ranked Tennessee Valley will give the Dawgz another shot to prove they are contenders for the 2009 ArenaCup. The best way to make a statement is upset to the defending af2 ArenaCup Champions on their home field. The challenge won't be easy for the Dawgz, as the Vipers have the third best scoring offense in the league, giving up only 42.1 points per game. The Vipers also have the leagues best return squad (23.4 ypr) and are the second best scoring team when inside the red zone, converting 86.8%.
Yard Dawgz WR Al Hunt has the opportunity this weekend to become arenafootball2's all-time career scoring and touchdown leader. He currently has 1,168 points (tied for 1st) and 192 TDs (one TD behind leader). Both records are held by Central Valley's George Williams, who was recently placed in injured reserve. Hunt is also second all-time in career receiving yards (7,309) and receiving TDs (165). He is also third all-time in career receptions with 521.
