Yard Dawgz Add Former OU Lineman

OKLAHOMA CITY- The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz officially announced the signing of six new players, including former University of Oklahoma offensive lineman Howard Duncan.
Howard Duncan (6'4, 290) finished the 2008 AFL season with the Columbus Destroyers having started 36 consecutive games. In 2007, Duncan helped lead the Destroyers to the National Conference Championship game and caught five passes for 52 yards during the season. Duncan began his professional career in 2005 with the Yard Dawgz after astonishing coaches at the yearly open tryout. He anchored the offensive line that season which had one of the best offenses in arena football. Duncan was a member of the 2000 University of Oklahoma National Champion team.
"Our offensive line is now better and deeper with the signing of an All Arena lineman. Duncan brings great talent to our offensive line as well as leadership to our locker room and organization," Head Coach Sparky McEwen said. "I am very pleased as to where we stand on the offensive side of the ball and Howard Duncan solidifies us as on of the better offensives in all of the Arena Football League."
Josh Richey (6'3, 190) was a member of the 2008 San Jose Sabercats. Richey took the arenafootball2 League by storm in 2007 with the Everett Hawks, finishing the season with 148 receptions for 1,968 yards and 44 td's. He was a three-year starter at Northeastern Oklahoma State.
Mervin Brookins (5'11, 185) joins the Yard Dawgz after playing his rookie season for the Stockton Lightning (af2) in 2009. Brookins recorded 25 tackles, 7 interceptions and 2 td's in just 6 games last season. Brookins played collegiately for Bethel College (KS) and Sacramento City Community College (CA).
The Yard Dawgz also signed Quarterback Justin Rummell (6'2, 240), Defensive Back David Hyland (6'0, 198) and Lineman Kevin Myers (6'6, 338).
