Memphis Xplorers News Release

SOUTHAVEN, Miss – The Memphis Xplorers tangle with the Bossier City Battle Wings tonight at 7 p.m. at the DeSoto Civic Center, located just 15 minutes south of downtown Memphis. Call (662) 280-3737 for tickets or go online to www.xplorersaf2.com ..

The Xplorers hope to keep Bossier City winless on the road as the Battle Wings travel to Memphis for the teams' first of two meetings this season. Bossier City has not won a road game since May 17 of the 2002 season, and they have not beaten Memphis at home since the 2001 season. The Xplorers sit at the bottom of the National Central Division just under the Battle Wings. A Memphis victory puts the teams into a tie for third place. While the Xplorers are coming off a bye week, Bossier City hopes to carry its momentum from its thrilling fourth quarter comeback against the Columbus Wardogs last week in which quarterback FRED LEONARD connected with VAL MORRIS for a 19 yard touchdown reception to put the Battle Wings up 34-31 with just fifty-four seconds left in the game. However, Memphis' KEVIN PRENTISS is third in the league in individual scoring with his 20 touchdowns while KEVIN COBB and KEITH SPANN are outstanding defensive specialists with their combined 33 pass breakups and four interceptions. The Xplorers must be aware of Bossier City's CHRIS SAMSON who leads the af2 with 48.0 total tackles. The teams face off again on June 27.
