Wyoming Cavalry News Release

Casper, WY - The public is invited to attend the first annual Wyoming Cavalry Players & Coaches Auction to be held Thursday, May 12, at the new Big Wyoming Buick, Pontiac, Cadillac, GMC Truck dealership, located at 6301 East 2nd Street, in the McMurry Business Park. A portion of the proceeds from the family-oriented auction will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Central Wyoming.

In addition, the Wyoming Cavalry will donate to the Boys & Girls Club one General Admission ticket - to the May 14th Cavalry home game - for every registered bidder at the event.

"We hope to make this an annual event," says General Manager Mike Layton. "The Wyoming Cavalry has been very fortunate these past five years to have outstanding community support. We are very grateful for all the support, and we try to give back to the community where we can. We also work with numerous non-profit organizations to help them raise funds. We're always looking for other opportunities to do something fun - outside of the arena. Coach Moore had the idea to do the player auction, and the Boys & Girls Club was selected because of all the help they have given us over the years."

The live auction will feature twenty-seven players and two coaches. Special activities are included with each player and coach being auctioned. "Local business partners have provided additional items to include in the auction," says Layton. "Winning bidders may get to play Putt Putt with Terrell, take Pete to a Casper Rockie's game, eat with Jegil at Pizza Hut, or enjoy a movie with Coz."

Lucky bidders will also be able to determine their own "fun" day. "Within reason, like playing tennis or soccer with Artavious," Layton is quick to point out.

Bidding numbers can be picked up at Big Wyoming the day of the event, beginning at 4:30 pm. Auction will begin at 5:30 pm. Reservations are recommended, but not necessary. Call 232-8170 to register or to place a bid on a player in the event you are not able to attend. Food and beverage will be provided by Sunrise Blimpie Subs & Salads and Pepsi of Casper.
