Wyoming Cavalry News Release

BALTIMORE, Maryland (July 13, 2009) - The Wyoming Cavalry is patiently waiting for their opponent in AIFA Bowl III, which the Cavalry will host in Casper, Wyoming on Sunday, July 26th. They won't have to wait much longer.

Tonight, the Eastern Conference slot in the AIFA's title game will be filled, based on the outcome of the game between the Reading Express and the Columbus Lions. The game will be played at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Georgia tonight at 7:30PM EDT. A large crowd is anticipated for this outstanding matchup between two of the AIFA's premiere franchises.

The winner makes the trip to Casper, where the Cavs will be waiting. Wyoming posted the best regular-season record in the league for the second consecutive year. In their two AIFA seasons, they have never lost a home game.

"There is no question what's on the line tonight," said AIFA co-founder John Morris, who is in Columbus with AIFA co-founder Michael Mink. "These are both quality teams, and they must focus on the job at hand.

"The winner gets a shot at Wyoming. And believe me, whoever advances knows full well that game won't be a picnic. The Casper Events Center is a tough place to play. Wyoming has a superb team that is very well coached. And that mountain air can be very challenging. Mississippi found that out last year."

Both Reading and Columbus are providing broadcast coverage of this game through their respective web sites. These sites can be accessed directly through the AIFA's home site (www.aifaprofootball.com).

With this year's playoffs, the AIFA has inaugurated its financial support package for playoff teams. The package is the first of its kind in the sport of indoor football. The AIFA proposed the idea prior to the 2009 season as a means by which to reduce financial stress on playoff participants. Both the Express and the Lions will receive financial subsidies.

The AIFA will provide coverage of this round of playoff action on its weekly show, This Week in the AIFA. The program is available at both the AIFA's home site (see above) and at the OurSports Central web site (www.oursportscentral.com). Edition 62 of the program will be available for download late in the week.
