Wright to DL; Lukanen Activated

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have placed starting pitcher Kyle Wright on the seven-day disabled list, retroactive to July 5.

Wright, last pitched Sunday against Lake County. He defeated the Fielders, 6-4, and allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out three. Wright left the game after seven innings with ulnar nerve irritation. Wright is 4-2 with a 3.83 ERA in eight starts and nine appearances.

The RiverHawks have activated relief pitcher Chuck Lukanen to fill the vacant roster spot. Lukanen was placed on the disabled list July 2 with arm fatigue. Lukanen has no record and a 5.07 ERA in six relief appearances.

The RiverHawks' next home game won't be until after the All Star break. They host the Lake County Fielders at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, July 15. The annual Muscular Dystrophy Association jersey auction, featuring Jacksonville Jaguars safety and Byron native Sean Considine, will immediately follow the game. It's also Miller Lite/2nd Cousin's Dollar Beer Night. The 2nd annual Guns vs. Hoses charity softball game is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. It's also Rockford Chamber Night, Byron Community Night and Jimmy Buffet Night.
