Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO - The Orlando Predators have agreed to terms with veteran wide receiver Brandon Thompkins, the franchise announced Monday evening via Arena Football League transactions. Now entering his fifth season, Thompkins has delivered 257 receptions for 3,220 yards and 66 touchdowns during his Arena Football League career.

"Brandon is such an explosive player. His presence puts a lot of pressure on the defense," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He's a savvy veteran receiver that has the ability to beat you in a variety of ways."

In 2014, Thompkins (5-10, 185, Arkansas State) began the year with the Spokane Shock before joining the LA KISS midway through the season. In total, he delivered 78 receptions for 888 yards and 17 touchdowns while adding 348 yards and two scores on 17 kickoff returns.

Thompkins entered the AFL as a rookie with the Spokane Shock in 2011, where he played four games under then-head coach Rob Keefe. He earned a starting role in 2012 and finished second on the team with 76 receptions for 907 yards and 26 touchdowns. A versatile playmaker, he also added six more scores on 18 rushing attempts.

Thompkins was reunited with Coach Keefe as a member of the Utah Blaze in 2013. He gained 345 yards and four scores on 27 catches before re-joining Spokane midway through the season. He continued to add 912 yards and 16 touchdowns on 65 receptions during the remainder of the season.

A native of West Palm Beach, Thompkins played collegiately at Arkansas State University, where he still holds school records for kickoff returns (123) and kickoff return yardage (2,696).
