Wooten And Moore Agree To Return To Wild In 2010

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) re-signed two more starters for the 2010 season. Players re-signing are quarterback Dixie Wooten and defensive back Donta Moore. Wooten joined the Wild 12 games into the 2009 season and led the Wild to 4-1 record in games he started. Moore started all 17 games for the Wild in 2009.

Wooten started the 2009 season with the RiverCity Rage before being released after leading the Rage to a 7-3 record. Wooten finished the season by leading the Wild to two wins in the playoffs and the Central Division Championship. Wooten finished the 2009 regular season ranked 7th in the IFL in passing yards with 2,121 and 4th in the league in TD passes with 53. Wooten threw only 8 interceptions on 296 pass attempts in 2009.

Prior to joining the Rage, Wooten spent the first part of the 2008 season with the Baltimore Mariners of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) before being traded to the Carolina Speed, who also plays in the AIFA. In 2007, Wooten played for the Cen-Tex Barracuda?s of the Intense Football League.

Wooten spent the 2004-2006 seasons playing in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL). He played for the Katy Copperheads (2006), Rome Renegades (2005), and Oklahoma Crude (2004).

The Houston, TX native was in mini-camp with the Minnesota Vikings in 2003 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002.

Moore finished 4th on the team in tackles with 55.5. Moore also recorded two interceptions and led the team in passes break-ups with 12. Moore?s played college football at the University of Connecticut. His final season for the Huskies was in 2006, where he finished fourth on the team in tackles with 72. Moore tallied three sacks and led the team with 11.5 tackles for loss. The Tampa, FL native redshirted during the 2005 season. In 2004, Moore played in all 12 games for UConn including the Motor City Bowl. As a freshman, Moore saw action in six games.
