Manchester Wolves News Release

The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire 's arenafootball2 team, announced today that the beginning of their third season in Manchester will be seen live on NH's WMUR-TV Channel 9.

This will be the second straight year that the Wolves and WMUR have signed an agreement to televise the home opener. The Wolves home opener will take place on Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena on April 7 at 7:37pm against East Division rival Green Bay Blizzard. Jason King will handle the play-by-play duties for the broadcast, Jamie Staton will be providing the color commentary, while Naoko Funayama reports from the sidelines.

"We look forward to working again with a fine broadcasting partner like WMUR for the home opener," said Wolves General Manager Angelo Mazzella. "It was a huge success last year, and we hope it will continue to help expose our brand of football and bring people to the Verizon Wireless Arena to really get the true feeling of a home event in the future."

This year's home opener will feature the Green Bay Blizzard, and former Mohegan and Manchester Wolves Head Coach Mark Stoute. Stoute, who is currently an Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator in Green Bay, coached the Wolves in Mohegan during the 2003 season where he led them to an impressive 11-7 season which ended in the second round of the playoffs to the Tennessee Valley Vipers. Stoute returned to the Wolves organization, this time in Manchester, in September of 2004 as Head Coach after spending the 2004 season as an AFL Assistant Head Coach in Indiana with the Firebirds. Stoute's second term with the Wolves didn't last long as he left less then a month later to the Tampa Bay Storm of the AFL to serve as an Assistant Coach. Stoute's early departure opened up the doors for Head Coach Ben Bennett to come to Manchester, and the Wolves haven't looked back since.

"The fans in this town have blown me away with the passion they have shown for the Wolves," said Bennett, who transformed the Wolves from a 5-11 squad in 2004 to 12-4 East Division Champions in one season. " Manchester embraced me, and I'd love to reward them with an Arena Cup Championship this year, starting with a big win over the Blizzard on April 7, live on television!"

The third regular season for the Wolves in Manchester begins April 7 and goes on through July 28. Individual tickets for Wolves home games are available through the Verizon Wireless Arena and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
