Mohegan Wolves News Release
NEW LONDON, Conn. (December 9, 2002) â The arenafootball2 league office announced today that wide receiver/linebacker Kazmell Minott has been assigned to the Mohegan Wolves.
Minott, a former Iona standout and former New Haven Ninja (af2), becomes the second player assigned to the Wolves for the 2003 season.
"Kazmell is a very physical, mentally tough player who shows up ready to go every game," Coach Stoute said. "He's capable of dominating a game offensively and from the linebacker position. He's a quality person as well, and someone who we (Wolves) think could be a big part of what we're trying to do here."
Minott played in seven contests in his rookie season of 2002 with the Ninjas, catching 16 passes for 193 yards and six touchdowns. From his linebacker position, the Queens, NY, native also recorded 11 tackles and a fumble recovery. Prior to graduating from Iona in 2002, Minott was twice named Don Hansen's Football Gazette Honorable Mention All-America at wide receiver, and once as a return specialist. Minott, who also garnered all-conference honors for the Gaels in 2000, finished his two-year career with 46 catches, 973 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns. His collegiate career began at Nassau Community College where he caught 23 passes in an injury-shortened 1999 season.
