Manchester Wolves News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. (April 29, 2004) - The Manchester Wolves (arenafootball2) are home again in New Hampshire and will tackle the Albany Conquest tomorrow night (Friday, April 30) at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The Wolves (1-3) are looking forward to facing the Conquest on their home turf after spending three of the first four weeks of the season on the road. The show begins at 5 p.m. with a special pre-game concert courtesy of Spiderbiteradio.com, featuring popular local music acts, Boomslang and Sean McCarthy. The action inside the arena kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available to tomorrow night's game, so make plans to visit the Verizon for a night of great football and great entertainment.

Records aside, the Wolves face a tough task ahead against Albany (0-3). The Conquest have never lost more than three games in a regular season since they joined the af2 in 2002. Their last contest was a heartbreaking home loss to Louisville last Saturday night, 62-56. Albany's slow start in 2004 may be directed toward its defense, as the Conquest have allowed almost 60 points per game (59.7). Albany has also committed 12 turnovers while forcing just five in return. Last time these two teams squared off in Albany on April 16, Manchester scored its first win of 2004, 47-34. The Conquest and Wolves have battled seven times in their three-year history. Albany leads the all-time series 5-2. This week the Wolves will rely, as always, on QB Chris Sanders and his talented corps of receivers. Manchester will also need a stellar effort out of their defense. The Wolves defense was key in their victory over the Conquest in their previous meeting this year, forcing seven turnovers (4 interceptions, 3 fumbles).

"Albany is out to win this football game, just like we are," Wolves Head Coach Rik Richards said. "They don't want to start the year 0-4. But we're back home and the guys are excited about being back. I think we have the firepower and the fans to carry us through."

Also, as a special prelude to the 12th annual NALC National Food Drive on Saturday, May 8, tomorrow night's game will also feature a special Wolves food drive outside the Verizon Wireless Arena. Fans can help support this great cause by bringing non-perishable food donations to the game. These donations will be deposited into a special food truck, which will be located outside the Verizon Wireless Arena. As an added incentive to contribute, everyone who donates food will automatically be entered into a random drawing to win the "Lay-Z-Boy Fan Upgrade of the Game." The fan upgrade of the game is a prized promotion where a select group of fans gain entrance into a special seating section that is ultra comfortable and extra close to the action.

To get in the game, purchase your tickets today at the Verizon Wireless Arena box office or through Ticketmaster at 603-868-7300, at Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Adult seats start as low as $14 in the upper bowl while youth (12-and-under) and senior (65-and-over) ickets start at just $9.50.
