The Wolves face a formidable foe ahead in Cape Fear, a team that has won two straight games and has one of the best records in the league at 5-3. The Wildcats are currently No. 8 in the arenafootball2 league rankings, as voted on in the most recent weekly af2 Coaches' Poll. Cape Fear boasts a high-powered offense that ranks among the af2's best in scoring (4th - 57.1 ppg). The Wildcats are especially dangerous on the ground, averaging 35.2 rushing yards per game (2nd in af2). Cape Fear also has a solid passing attack and one of the best offensive specialists in the league in Matt Burnstein. Burnstein leads the af2 in scoring with 126 points (26 TDs - 24 receiving, 2 return) and ranks fifth in receiving yards with 921. Mike Gluski is the new quarterback in town for the Wildcats. In two starts since being obtained in a trade with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Gluski has led the team to two straight wins, throwing for 555 yards (277.5 ypg) and 13 touchdowns with five interceptions.

The Wolves are led by quarterback Chris Sanders, who struggled in last week's loss at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton after being nearly perfect for a month. Sanders threw three interceptions in the defeat after not throwing one in four weeks. The last time these two teams played just over a month ago, Sanders was sharp, throwing for 225 yards and a team-record seven touchdowns in Manchester's 45-41 win. He'll need to on again for the Wolves to compete. Veteran WR/DB George Williams has been Sanders' main target this season, catching 68 passes for 860 yards and 19 touchdowns. Rookie WR/DB Reggie Robinson has also been a primary target, ranking second on the squad in receiving with 41 catches for 495 yards and nine touchdowns. Manchester also has a newcomer named J.J. McKelvey who may play a factor as another big target for Sanders to see downfield. On defense, the action will be fierce up front as former New England Patriot Vernon Crawford will be out to create havoc against on the Wildcats. He'll also need help from guys like rookie defensive specialist Rob Carey, who is starting his second straight game for the Wolves. Carey recorded a game-high 9.0 tackles last week.

"We've got a tough one this week against Cape Fear," Wolves Head Coach Rik Richards said. "They're feeling pretty good right now coming off two straight wins, but I believe in our guys. If we create turnovers and limit our mistakes, I think we've got a great chance to win."
