Bridgeport, CT, October 1, 2015 - Kodie Curran's goal at 3:49 of 3-on-3 overtime gave the Hartford Wolf Pack a 3-2 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Thursday night at Wonderland of Ice, in the AHL preseason opener for both teams.

The winning goal resulted from a three-on-none Wolf Pack break, after Bridgeport failed to get the puck deep in the offensive zone. Curran and Michael St. Croix exchanged the puck across the middle, with St. Croix setting Curran up with an empty net behind Sound Tiger goaltender Parker Milner (20 saves).

St. Croix had tied the game for the Wolf Pack at 9:15 of the third period, burying the puck past Milner from in front of the net after a centering pass by Scott Fleming from the left-wing corner.

The Wolf Pack were outshot 14-5 in the first period, but starting goaltender Magnus Hellberg (21 saves) was sharp, and an Alex Krushelnyski goal at 6:22 was the only scoring of the frame. Stefano Momesso played the puck towards the net from the right-wing side and Krushelnyski, driving the middle, deflected it past Milner.

The Wolf Pack killed three straight penalties in the second period, but Bridgeport finally tied the game at 17:45, on a goal by Scott Allen. Allen took a pass from Carter Verhaeghe and snapped a shot from just inside the right faceoff dot that beat Josh Robinson, who had replaced Hellberg at the 10:07 mark.

The Sound Tigers then took a short-lived lead at 5:31 of the third, with Sebastien Sylvestre scoring from the left side of the goalmouth. Verhaeghe again set up the play, and Sylvestre dove to his left to slip the puck around Robinson (13 saves).

The Wolf Pack continue their preseason slate this Saturday night, October 3, when they travel to Allentown, PA to visit the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Faceoff is 7:00. The Pack's only home preseason game is this Sunday, October 4 at Champions Skating Center in Cromwell, CT, as Hartford and Bridgeport rematch at 3:00. A $5 per person admission charge will benefit Whalers Youth Hockey.

The Wolf Pack open their 19th regular season of AHL play at the XL Center Saturday, October 10, hosting the St. John's IceCaps in a 7:00 PM game.
