Hartford, May 11, 2004: The Hartford Wolf Pack may be waiting patiently for their next opponent in their drive for the Calder Cup, but the work the team does in the community through its Wolf Pack Community Foundation keeps on going on strong.

This season, the team raised $183,523 through four major events, game-night "Chuck-A-Puck" promotions and sales of the Foundation's Acoustic Café Volume III CD. As a result, the team donated $26,000 to the Children's Home of Cromwell, $30,000 to the Eastern Regional Special Olympics, $23,000 to Gaylord Hospital and $12,000 to the Children's Cancer Fund at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Donations were also granted to more than ten other worthy causes in the region, including the Boys and Girls Club of Dutch Point, America Walk for Diabetes and St. Francis Better Beginnings, a neo-natal program at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

"This team isn't just about putting a winning product on the ice, it's all about producing a win-win situation for the community as well," says Wolf Pack General Manager Jim Schoenfeld. "Our family takes great pride in what we've been able to accomplish with the Community Foundation over the years."

In addition to monetary donations, Wolf Pack players were involved in hundreds of community appearances during the regular season, including: street hockey clinics, golf tournaments, a Special Olympics Bowl-A-Thon, visits to the CT Children's Medical Center, the Connecticut Kidney Foundation Christmas Party, December 26th's "Day of Giving", where players and staff helped serve dinner to the homeless, and the Tip-A-Player Celebrity Waiter Dinner at Coach's.

The team also participated in a number of worthy projects including the Lt. Governor's Academic Achievement Awards, the McDonald's Fantastic Scholastics reading program, the "Chariots of Hope" Sled Hockey Team, the CT Chasers Special Hockey International Team, and the Hartford Wolf Pack Street Wolves Program. "Sonar," the team's furry wolf mascot, made more than 100 appearances at schools, hospitals, camps and charity events.

In seven years, the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation has raised about $712,000 for local charitable endeavors. The goal of the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation is to support charitable programs that offer hope and support to inner-city youth, help save the lives of Connecticut's children, and enhance the quality of life of those in our community. Groups can apply for grants on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com

The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
