
WNBA Stars to Take on USA Basketball at Sold out Mohegan Sun Arena

NEW YORK, July 9, 2010 - Seven former and current University of Connecticut Huskies will take to the court in the WNBA vs. USA Basketball: The Stars at the Sun game on Saturday, July 10. The event will mark the second straight year that the WNBA's midseason showcase has been played before a sold-out crowd at Mohegan Sun Arena. ESPN will televise the game at 3:30 p.m. ET, with coverage presented by adidas.

Marketing Partnership Activation
The Stars at the Sun features is being supported by several WNBA marketing partners who will be using the event to reach the league's passionate fan base, including adidas, Gatorade, HP, Nike, T-Mobile and Spalding. Both adidas and Spalding are running their "Score a Jersey, Get a Ticket" sweepstakes, where purchases of $25 or more will be entered for a chance to win a trip to the WNBA Playoffs or Finals. In addition, T-Mobile presented the "WNBA vs. USA Basketball: The Stars at the Sun" Balloting Program which gives fans the opportunity to vote for the top 10 players in the WNBA, regardless of conference or position, and ran from May 23 through June 21.
WNBA Digital
A special edition of Live WNBA SayNow "Pick-Your-Player"Conference Call will take place in which fans will choose their favorite player to host the call, following the game. Player and media twitter accounts will be available on a WNBA.com live, where fans can comment in real-time. WNBA stars and President Donna Orender will conduct "Twitterviews," which will deliver fan questions and responses throughout the event.
On-Air
ESPN2 broadcast team will include play-by-play commentator Terry Gannon and Carolyn Peck will provide color analysis along with reporters Heather Cox and WNBA basketball legend and recent Hall of Fame inductee, Rebecca Lobo. In addition, The game will be broadcast in over 200 countries and territories in 22 languages.
