Philadelphia Wings News Release

The Philadelphia Wings, of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), named WMGK (102.9 FM) Disc Jockey Ray Koob as the In-Arena Host during the upcoming 2014 season. In his role as In-Arena Host, Koob will involve fans in promotions during game time-outs, as well as entertain and energize supporters in attendance. Koob will work alongside long-time Wings Public Address Announcer Kevin Casey.

Koob will make his In-Arena Host debut when the Philadelphia Wings take on the Buffalo Bandits during the home opener on Sunday, January 12 at 4 p.m.

Koob has been serving the Philadelphia area with classic rock for over a decade as nighttime host of "In The Nighttime." A native of Philadelphia, Koob is an area radio veteran as he has been broadcasting with WMGK since 2002. Prior his time at WMGK, Koob served as an on-air personality for sister station WMMR (93.3 FM)

"We are excited to have Ray Koob as a part of the Philadelphia Wings organization. His knowledge for the sport of lacrosse and the city of Philadelphia make him the perfect addition to our in-arena game presentation," said Director of Marketing and Game Presentation Nikki Varoutsos. "We appreciate his enthusiasm and dynamic personality he uses to connect with our fans."

The Wings return with many their top performing players in 2014, including Captain Brodie Merrill (10G, 16A, 123LB), Forward Kevin Crowley (34G, 38A) and Goaltender Brandon Miller (12.12 GAA). Last season, Miller was named to the NLL All-Pro Team.

Single game tickets for the Philadelphia Wings 2014 NLL season are on sale now and can be purchased online at WingsLAX.com, by phone at 215-389-WING (9464) or in person at the Wells Fargo Center box office.
