
Bandits Ink Five Players

BUFFALO, NY (November 4, 2013) --- Buffalo Bandits General Manager Steve Dietrich announced today that the team has signed five additional players in preparation for the upcoming season.
The Bandits have agreed to terms with 2013 draft picks Kevin Pym and Eric Penney as well as second-year players Kevin Brownell and Hayden Smith on one-year deals. The club has also signed free agent Colin Boucher to a two-year contract. All deals are pending league approval.
Pym (5'8", 140 lbs., 8/1/92), the son of current Bandits assistant coach Dave Pym, was Buffalo's sixth-round selection (47th overall) in this year's draft. A transition player and native of Edmonton, Alberta, Pym spent the 2013 season as a member of the Okotoks Raiders Junior A squad where he tallied 59 points (25+34) over 28 contests.
Penney (6'1", 215 lbs., 11/22/93), a goaltender from the St. Catharines Athletics (Junior A), was chosen by Buffalo in the fifth-round (38th overall) in this year's draft. The 19-year old native of Rexdale, Ontario was a co-recipient of the Ted Howe Sr. Award for Regular Season MVP in 2012 as a member of the Athletics.
Brownell (6'1", 179 lbs., 8/16/88), a transition player, will enter his second season as a member of the Bandits. As a rookie last year, the Burlington, Ontario native recorded eight points (2+6) in seven games for Buffalo.
Smith (6'1", 200 lbs., 1/18/91), a native of Owen Sound, Ontario, also returns for his second season as a member of the Bandits. The transition player contributed one assist over four games as a rookie last season.
Boucher (6'5", 235 lbs., 3/9/88), a defenseman, comes to Buffalo after spending time with the St. Catharines Saints and Six Nations Chiefs Senior League teams as well as the Barrie Blizzard of the Canadian Lacrosse League (CLAX). He was named a Second Team All-Star for the CLAX and also won the Mann Cup with his Six Nations squad.
