Sporting Kansas City News Release

KANSAS CITY, MO (March 26, 2003) - The Kansas City Wizards today announced a unique spectator opportunity for Wizards fans 15 years and younger. The charter MLS team has partnered with Price Chopper to create the ZARD CARD, a youth membership passport to "The Yard", a special general admission seating area at Arrowhead Stadium.

Members will receive numerous benefits during the season including a special ticket discount for admission to "The Yard" as well as membership benefits at all 37 participating Price Chopper stores. Young fans can present their Price Chopper ZARD CARD at the Arrowhead ticket office and purchase special discount tickets to "The Yard". Tickets are valid for each member and each accompanying family member and can be purchased for just $5 per person for each game during the 2003 season. "The Yard" is situated in the east end line general admission seating area and is expected to become the primary supporting voice behind the team at all home games.

In assessing the plan, Wizards General Manager Curt Johnson pointed out that the organization is very excited at the unveiling of the Price Chopper ZARD CARD. "This support group with its related ticket benefits for the entire family, game day, drawings and weekly Price Chopper specials is clearly targeted at area youth."

"Soccer is becoming a sport of choice for the young people of America and this program gives the Wizards yet another way to reach these passionate young people. We encourage every young person 15 and under to register for their own personal ZARD CARD prior to the Wizards opening game vs. D.C. United on April 12th at 7:00 p.m.," says Johnson.

As a special kickoff to the beginning of the ZARD CARD membership drive, Wizards goalkeeper Tony Meola recruited a group of 32 young people from his immediate neighborhood in Overland Park, Kansas. The group collectively became the first members to register for a ZARD CARD. They will be the first 32 young fans to receive their "Z" number, which will identify each fan individually.

"This is a great way to get more young kids involved with the Wizards organization and the soccer experience. They can bring their parents to the game for a great price," says Wizards goalkeeper Tony Meola.

Fans may register for the ZARD CARD at any of the 37 participating Price Chopper stores Customer Service Desk, by logging onto the Wizards website at www.kcwizards.com or by calling the Wizards office at 816-920-4730.
