(November 1, 2010) - The Kansas City Wizards enter their final week of postseason workouts in 2010 at their Swope Park Training Facility this week. The Wizards, who finished in third place in the Eastern Conference standings, are building toward a highly anticipated 2011 season that will include the opening of a new, state-of-the-art stadium and the introduction of Designated Player Omar Bravo, currently on-loan to Chivas Guadalajara.

Thursday will then mark the final day of training for Kansas City in 2010, a full 285 days after the first day of training last January.

In other MLS action this week, the MLS Cup playoffs continue on Thursday with the second leg between San Jose and New York, live on ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m. CT. The League will also begin announcing its year-end award winners on Wednesday with the unveiling of Rookie of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Fair Play awards.

The 2011 MLS season will feature 34 regular season games, with MLS First Kick scheduled for March 19 and regular season action continuing until October 22. The 16th season of Major League Soccer will feature the introduction of two new teams, the Vancouver Whitecaps and the Portland Timbers, with an expansion draft to be held on November 24th. The annual MLS SuperDraft will then take place on January 13th at the NSCAA National Convention in Baltimore.

The 2011 soccer season will also feature the CONCACAF Gold Cup in June, with the winner qualifying for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil. The United States is an automatic qualifier for the 12-team tournament. Wizards players Shavar Thomas, Roger Espinoza, Jimmy Conrad, Davy Arnaud, Stephane Auvray and Omar Bravo all participated in the 2009 edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
