Austin Bruins News Release
The Austin Bruins wrapped up a three game road trip this Saturday Night in Bismarck North Dakota to clash with the 1st place Bismarck Bobcats. Christian Folin gave the Bruins the early lead with a howitzer that beat goaltender Tommy Burke to give the Black and Yellow a 1-0 lead just 26 seconds in. The Bobcats tied the game on a rush to notch the score at 1-1. At the first intermission the shots were tied 12-12. The second period Bismarck took a 2-1 lead as Buster Hebda put in a rebound. The Bruins were able to tie the battle 2-2 with an Austin Nelson goal assisting was Matt Hansen and CJ Smith. The Bobcats regained the lead on a transition to take a 3-2 lead. At the end of two periods of play Austin was outshot 30-21. The final frame the Bruins could not get the puck past Tommy Burke. The Cats added one late to take a 4-2 lead. With a 4-2 final the Bruins winning streak is halted at three games. The Bruins are back at home next weekend as they will continue play against the Aberdeen Wings.
