Aberdeen Wings News Release
Weekend Recap
The Aberdeen Wings (5-2-1) opened a two-game weekend series with the Minot Minotauros (2-5-1) on the road Friday night. Right away in the first period, Wings center #15 Jordan Heller (C-Bemidji, MN) scored on a rebound shot from #11 TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN) who got the assist. The Wings were only on the penalty kill once in the 1st period. The second period would be a lot of back and forth play between the Wings and Minotauros. In the 3rd period, Wings forward #16 Kyle Haak (F-Okemos, MI) scored to go up 2-0 with assists from #19 Colin O'Neill (F-Odenton, MD) and #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA). With less than one minute left, #15 Jordan Heller scored an empty net goal. Wings goalie Chad Catt stopped all 30 of 30 shots on goal. The Aberdeen Wings now improve to (6-2-1) on the season.
Saturday night was much of the same for the Wings, earning another 3-0 win over Minot. Sigurdarson got the Wings on the board with a power play goal in the first period with assists going to Roo and Grebosky. A few minutes later in the 1st period Doyon was able to give the Wings a two goal cushion with an assists from Patrick Steinhauser. Grebosky would put the game out of reach early in the 3rd when he put the puck past the Minot goaltender with the assists going to Steinhauser and Billett. Chad Catt was in goal for the Wings and recorded his 2nd straight shutout over Minot. For their efforts Catt was named NAHL Central Division Star of the week and Jonathan Grebosky was named the NAHL Central Division 2nd star of the week!
