More that 200 fourth grade students from Camelot Intermediate School will be at the Larson Ice Center on Friday, October 18 thfrom 10-11am to watch practice, sign autographs, and learn about the sport of hockey.

The student field trip was used as incentive for the students who reached their reading goals as part of school's Renaissance Accelerated Reader (AR) curriculum.

Camelot fourth grade teacher Erika Drawdy described the program.

"Students have been reading a variety of books and testing on a program to reach their first quarter reading goals. Accelerated Reader is a powerful tool for monitoring and managing independent reading practice. Students are encouraged to reach a goal of 10 points for the first quarter, and students who were successful and reached their goal were rewarded for their tremendous work with the opportunity to spend the morning with the Blizzard team," said Drawdy.

The Blizzard also provided extra incentive for the students, offering each fourth grader a free ticket to Friday night's home game against the Bismarck Bobcats. The group will also be recognized at the game for their hard work and dedication.

Friday's game against the Bobcats will start at 7:15pm. The game can be seen on Fasthockey.com.
