
Wings Sign Four Players Including Ardmore Native John Christmas

The Philadelphia Wings have signed transition player and Ardmore, PA native John Christmas to a one-year contract according to Wings' General Manager Lindsay Sanderson. Second-year defenseman Kyle Fiat and recently acquired goaltenders Rob Blasdell and Mike Miron were also signed to one-year deals.
Christmas recorded six points (4G, 2A) and 51 loose balls in 14 games last season. The third-year transition player was acquired by the Wings in the fifth round (49th overall) of the 2005 NLL Entry Draft. The University of Virginia graduate was a member of the Cavaliers' 2003 NCAA Championship Team and also played lacrosse at Lower Merion High School.
Fiat is entering his second season with the Wings and scored nine points (1G, 8A) in 14 games his rookie year. He played two seasons at Towson University after transferring from Utah State University. Fiat was signed by the Wings as a free agent on November 14, 2007.
Blasdell, a ten-year NLL veteran and former Goaltender of the Year, had a 76% save percentage in 16 games for the Arizona Sting last season. He led his team to the NLL Championship Game and made 48 saves in Arizona's 13-11 loss to the Rochester Knighthawks. Blasdell finished the regular season second overall among goaltenders with a 10.94 goals against average.
Miron is entering his seventh NLL season, his first with the Wings. The goaltender spent last season with the NLL Champion Rochester Knightawks where he had a 17.95 goals against average in six games. Miron has also seen playing time with the Arizona Sting and Columbus Landsharks.
