January 5, 2003 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
The Philadelphia Wings indoor lacrosse team has rescheduled this Saturday's home opener against the New York Saints at the First Union Center to Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. Comcast-Spectacor, owner and operator of the First Union Center, made the change to accommodate Wings fans interest in watching or attending the Philadelphia Eagles home playoff game, as well as alleviating traffic concerns for those attending the Eagles playoff game.
"In an effort to alleviate traffic congestion in and around the parking lots of the stadium complex, Comcast-Spectacor feels it is in our best interest to move the Wings home opener to March 8 at 1 p.m.," said Comcast-Spectacor Senior Vice-President John Page. "The Wings ownership and the National Lacrosse League were very accommodating in making the change."
"With so many of our loyal season ticket holders being die-hard Eagles fans, we felt that rescheduling our home opener was the best course," said Wings Owner and President Russ Cline.
The rescheduled date (March 8 at 1 p.m.) means the home opener will now be Saturday, January 25 at 8 p.m. at the First Union Center. This will be the teams' second game of the regular season after losing to the Ravens by a score of 14-10 in Vancouver on Friday, January 3.
Individual tickets for all Wings home games this season are on sale now at the First Union Complex Box Office or by calling Ticketmaster. Individual game tickets are $18, $23, and $27 in advance and $20, $25, and $29 on game day. Get your tickets now before they fly away!
