Philadelphia Wings News Release

For the romantically challenged, the Philadelphia Wings indoor lacrosse team hosts "Love Stinks" night as an alternative to Valentine's Day on Saturday, February 14 at 8 p.m. in the Wachovia Center when the team hosts the Arizona Sting.

In celebration of being single, "Love Stinks" night features testimonials from jilted lovers on the center-hung jumbotron, a heartbreak piñata that fans can try and break while venting their romantic frustrations and the world's worst sappy movie moments of all time. For those wishing to become single, a divorce lawyer will be available for consultations on the concourse. The team is also distributing black carnations, courtesy of Oasis Flowers and Gift Shop, to the first 5,000 women in attendance at the game.

"For those who are single, or unattached, this night is designed as an alternative to going-out as a couple on Valentine's Day," said Wings President Russ Cline. "It's also a fun night out for any couple who is looking for the perfect date on Valentine's Day."

The Wings are also partnering with "8 Minute Dating" service to help those who haven't given up on love meet other singles and possibly help them form a romantic relationship. The "8 Minute Dating" service sets up participants with eight one-on-one conversations each lasting eight minutes to allow for potential dates, friends or business associates. Those interested in participating in the Wings "8 Minute Dating" event will receive a game ticket and admission to the halftime event in the Lexus Club at the Wachovia Center. For more information or to make reservations visit 8minutedating.com.

The "Love Stinks" main event takes place when the Wings (2-3) try and send the Sting (3-3) back to splitsville with a broken heart on Saturday, February 14 at 8 p.m. at the Wachovia Center. There will be no love lost here.

Doors for the Broad Street Bash, a pre-game indoor block party, open at 6:30 p.m. with live music from "Redline," a mechanical bull, autographs, and more.

The Wings will play five additional home games at the Wachovia Center including Saturday, February 21 vs. the Buffalo Bandits; Saturday, February 28 vs. the Toronto Rock; Saturday March 13 vs. the Rock; Saturday, March 20 vs. the Anaheim Storm; and Saturday, March 27 vs. the Knighthawks.

Single game tickets for Wings indoor lacrosse are $18, $23, and $27 in advance ($20, $25, and $29 on game day) and on-sale now at the Wachovia Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Get your boarding passes now and take flight with Wings. Partial season tickets for the remaining 2004 home games are on-sale now by calling 215-389-WING (9464).
