May 9, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
Philadelphia Wings forward Sean Greenhalgh was named to the 2006 Edge Active Care All-Rookie Team as chosen by the governors, general managers and coaches of the NLL's eleven member clubs.
"The development of Sean's skills this season have been remarkable," said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "He had a fantastic season and will be essential to the success of this team next season."
The Cornell University graduate led all rookies in scoring this season with 73 points (31G, 42A) in 16 games and was tied for tenth in overall league scoring while only being assessed a total of four penalty minutes.
The 5'10", 185-pound forward was named the NLL's Player of the Week twice, received five Rookie of the Week Awards during the 2006 season; and was the recipient of the NLL's 2006 Bowflex Sportsmanship Award given out earlier this month. The St. Catharine's, ON native was drafted by the Wings in the first round (3rd overall) in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft.
The remaining members of the Edge Active Care All-Rookie Team were Dan Carey of the Colorado Mammoth, Jeff Zywicki and Luke Wiles of the San Jose Stealth, Shawn Evans of the Rochester Knighthawks, and Brodie Merrill of the Portland Lumberjax, who was also named the Edge Active Care NLL Rookie of the Year.
The Philadelphia Wings are owned and operated by Philadelphia Wings L.P., whose principal owners are Russ Cline, Chris Fritz and Michael French. Comcast-Spectacor serves as the marketing, sponsorship and publicity arm of the Wings.
