HARLINGEN, Texas - Ryan Kottke's three-run double was the big blow in a five-run first inning as the Harlingen WhiteWings offense woke up Thursday in an 11-3 victory over the Laredo Broncos in the Texas Winter League.
Kottke, who was drafted by the Wings with the first pick in the United Baseball League draft and signed Monday, finished the day 3-for-4 and now has a league-leading 10 RBIs. Kottke became the first player from the winter league signed to a summer league contract in the UBL.
